AN ORDINANCE APPROP~RIATING IHE SUM
OF $20,000 TO THE PARK FUND, MAKING
FINDINGS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 05 PORT TOWNSEND, UPON REVIEW OF THE.]9G7 BUDGET
FOR THE CITY, MAKES THE FOLLOWING FINDINGS OF FACl:
1) Grant funds from the Washington State Interagency Committee for Outdoor
Recreation were awarded to the city to improve access to the beach at Chetzemoka
Park.
2) Funds were budgeted for the city's match to this grant in the Park Fund.
3) It is necessary for the city to pay the contractors who were awarded the
bid for construction of a walkway and shore protection as well as for certain
signage.
4) A donation was received to finance a special planting in Chetzemoka as a
memorial.
5) The foregoing emergencies were not reasonably foreseeable at the time of filing
of the city's preliminary budget and requires expenditure of money not provided
for in the Annual Budget for 1987.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORI TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1) The sum of TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($20,000) is here and hereby
appropriated as a supplement to the 1987 budget for the City of Port Townsend
in the Park Fund to finance improvements to the beach access at Chezemoka Park
for $19,700 (130.13.576.680.65.639) and $300 'for additional landscaping
(130.13.576.680.63.609) from a State Grant (130.334.019.00) $19,350,property
Tax (130.311.100.00) $350, and donations ~rom private sources (130.376.100.00)

Section 2) There is here and hereby found and declared to be an emergency reqL~iring
the aforegoing appropriations to the said 1987 budget of the City of Port 'Townsend.
Section 3) This ordinance shall take effect upon it passage, approval, and
publication in the form and manner provided by law .
Read for the first time September 1, 1987, read for the second and third time,
passed by the council and approved by the Mayor on September 15, 1987.
