Solid Waste Collection RFP Addendum #2

Notices:
1.The City Council reviewed key RFP elements on December 10, 2018 and
affirmed the shift to every-other-week residential garbage collection and
the continuation of the 3-bin recycling system as draft base contract
provisions. They also reviewed the truck age requirements and chose to
require new collection vehicles in the draft base contract. The first
paragraph of Section 4.1.13 of the draft base contract is revised as
follows:
“The Contractor shall use year 2018 or later collection vehicles no older
than ten (10) years old (based on chassis model year) for Garbage,
Recyclables, and Yard Debris collection services performed under this
contract under this Contract. The Contractor shall retain one useable
back-up vehicle locally for each type of truck used in the performance of
this Contract. Back-up vehicles used fewer than thirty (30) operating
days a calendar year shall not be subject to the age that apply to
regularly-used vehiclesmodel year requirement, but shall be presentable,
shall be in safe working order, and shall be subject to all other conditions
of this section. The accumulated annual use of individual back-up
vehicles shall be reported in the Contractor’s monthly report.”
If a proponent prefers to use older equipment, they may propose the use
of that equipment as a contract modification under the Section E of their
proposal. In that case, please follow the RFP Section E instructions and
identify the model year(s) of your alternative vehicles.
