The Jefferson Street Sidewalk Extension Project construction starts on Tuesday November 13th and will
continue until the end of 2018. The project extends from the intersection of Jefferson and Taylor Street
to the intersection of Quincy and Washington Street. Due to the construction, Adams Street will be closed
to vehicles between Franklin and Jefferson Street. Pedestrian traffic will still be permitted through on
Adams Street. There will also be no parking on the north side of Jefferson Street between Taylor and
Adams Street. Construction will typically occur between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. Traffic on Jefferson Street
will be one lane with flaggers directing traffic. To avoid delays, please use Lawrence and Monroe Street
as an alternative route into downtown during construction.
