Volunteer Trail Work Party, October 20th, from 9 am to Noon
Calling all lovers of our wonderful City trails!
A volunteer work party for maintenance of the City of Port Townsend’s trail system will take
place at 35 th Street Park on the 33 rd Street Trail. The work will be led by City Parks and
Recreation staff with assistance from the City’s Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory Board
and…you! With volunteer assistance, trail maintenance activities will focus on clearing forest
understory brush including salal, serviceberry, and blackberry to widen the trail corridor and
laying down gravel to raise and enhance the trail tread. Pruners, loppers, and other hand tools
will be provided, volunteers are encouraged to bring their own to help supplement supplies.
Interested volunteers will meet at 32 nd and McClellan.
Please bring:
Gloves
Pruners & loppers (for clearing vegetation)
Shovels, pitchfork or rakes
Water bottle
Be sure to wear sturdy work boots and gloves, and dress for the weather – rain or shine, the
trail work will get done! Snacks and water will be provided.
