Title: The Future of Howard Street & Upper Sims Way is Underway!
We need your voice and your ideas as we craft the Subarea Plan for Howard St & Upper Sims
Way. If you missed the first Community Meeting, it’s not too late to let your voice be heard.
Join us at the second Community Open House on August 16, from 5:30 - 7:30 at Towne Point
Club House, 2240 Towne Point Ave (limited parking - please carpool, walk, or cycle).
The Subarea Plan is being created by the community for the community. So let your voice be
heard to shape the future of Port Townsend’s Howard St & Upper Sims Way. At the first
meeting and through an online survey we asked: What type businesses do you want? What
should the neighborhood look like? Artisan businesses? Housing? Restaurants? And you
responded. Now we’re ready to start planning, and we need to know if we got your vision right.
Please join us, as we enter the next phase: do the concepts capture your vision for this
community? On August 16, we will share some draft concepts and you can tell us if we heard
you correctly. Are we on track in understanding what you want to see in this community: access
to restaurants, shopping, well-paying jobs and housing? The goal of the Subarea Plan is to
address the community’s vision and needs while clearly articulating the City’s expectations
through development standards and regulations. The map below outlined in yellow is the study
area of the Subarea Plan.
