HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017-04-03 2017 Annual Comprehensive Plan Docket Joanna Sanders �u.� � a City Clerk� of � 250 Madison, Suite 2 Port Townsend, WA 98368 ownsen 360-379-5083 jsanders @cityo @.us TO: Port Townsend Leader Classified - Legal Notice FROM: Joanna Sanders DATE: March 20, 2017 SUBJ: Notice of Intent to Adopt 2017 Docket PUBLICATION DATE: March 22, 2017 NOTICE OF INTENT TO APPROVE FINAL DOCKET FOR CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND 2017 ANNUAL COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE The Port Townsend City Council will meet on Monday, April 3, 2017, at or about 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, 540 Water Street, Port Townsend, WA to accept public comment and consider approving the docket for the 2017 Annual Comprehensive Plan Update; specifically: • Amendments to the City's Critical Areas Ordinance (CAO) codified in Chapter 19.05 of the Port Townsend Municipal Code (PTMC). The CAO update is a remaining step from the 2016 GMA Periodic Update. Critical areas regulations apply city-wide. (Resolution 16-049) • Amend the Shoreline Master Program to update the reference to the Critical Areas Ordinance. • Initiating a Comprehensive Plan amendment related to the Howard Street/Sims Way Corridors (Resolution 17-012). The study area can generally be described as approximately 200 acres of land zoned for general commercial (C-II), Mixed Light Manufacturing and Commercial (M-C) (including the Port Townsend Business Park), and mixed use (C-II MU) generally bound by Sheridan Street on the east, the city-limits on the west, 12th Street to the north and the city-limits to the south along with multi-family (R-III and R-IV) parcels bound by Discovery Road on the south, 15th Street on the north Howard Street on the east and Spring Street on the west. Council previously indicated its intent to place these on the 2017 docket by adopting Resolutions 16-049 and 17-012. These are the only two items under consideration — additions to the docket will not be considered. The Council's decision to place a proposed amendment on the final docket does not constitute a decision or recommendation that the proposed amendment should be adopted. Further review and opportunity for public comment will be available prior to adoption which is anticipated to occur in mid-September 2017.
