NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
2016 Growth Management Act Periodic Update Comprehensive Plan and
Development Regulations
The Port Townsend Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on Thursday,
October 22, 2015, at or about 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, 540 Water Street, Port
Townsend, WA to accept public testimony on the preliminary docket. The document
summarizes the results of the compliance review of the City's comprehensive plan and
development regulations pursuant to the Growth Management Act (GMA)
(RCW36.70A.130). It identifies:
• mandated revisions necessary to comply with the state GMA
• housekeeping revisions necessary for consistency/reflect changed
circumstances, and
• suggested amendments made by citizens, the city council or members of the
city council, city staff, city departments.
The director has forwarded to the Planning Commission his recommendation on the
preliminary docket and the scope and schedule for the update. Following the hearing,
the Planning Commission shall adopt a recommendation, identifying those amendments
recommended for City Council consideration during the 2016 Update. Persons wishing
to testify may do so either by submitting oral testimony during the public hearing or by
submitting written comments to the City Clerk at (2016Update(a)_cityofpt.us), 250
Madison Street, Suite 2, Port Townsend, WA 98368. Written comments must be
received by the close of the public hearing on October 22, 2015. The preliminary docket
is available for inspection in the City Clerk's office on the second floor of City Hall.
Planning Commission packets are also made available online at
http://www.cityofpt.us/video.htm approximately one week prior to a scheduled meeting.
