HomeMy WebLinkAbout2111 Vacating a Portion of Copper Street in Dundee Place Plat, Supplementary Addition to Hastings Third AdditionORDINANCE NO. ~Zl / I AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF COPPER STP~]~I~.~Z]5~W.~;'T}/ BLOCK 21, PLAT OF DUNDEE PLACE, SUPPLEMENTARY ~/I5~.'~'Z~.~,~¥~r'''''''--'-~''''''-~-' TO THE HASTINGS THIRD ADDITION TO THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND: ESTABLISHING CONDITIONS TO THE STREET VACA- TION; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT.TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: That that portion of Copper Streetdescribed as follows, lying within the City of Port Townsend, be and the same is hereby vacated, to wit: That portion of Copper Street between Blocks 10 and 21 in the Plat of Dundee Place, Volume 2 of Plats, Page 52, City of Port Townsend, County of Jefferson, State of Washington, de- scribed as follows: Beginning at the most Easterly corner of said Block 10, Which corner is at the intersection of Copper Street and Uma- tilla Avenue; thence Southwesterly along the Northwesterly right-of-way of Copper Street, being the Southeasterly boundary of said Block 10, a distance of 8.5 feet to the True Point of Beginning for this description, being more or less at the South- westerly edge of the existing pavement of Umatilla Avenue; thence continuing Southwesterly, along said Northwesterly right-of-way, 147 feet; thence Southeasterly at right angles a distance of 50 feet to the Southeasterly right-of-way of Copper Street, being the Northwesterly boundary of said Block 21; thence Northeasterly along said Southeasterly right-of-way 148.5 feet to a point which is more or less on the Southwesterly edge of the existing pave- ment of Umatilla Avenue; thence Northwesterly to the true Point of Beginning. Contains 7387.5 square feet. Section 2: That the street vacation aforementioned is con- ditioned, however, upon the following: (A) That the applicants first execute an ease- ment in favor of Puget Sound Power and Light Company, as de- scribed by a letter from Puget Power dated February 9, 1988 (Puget Power File No. D-165). (B) Ail fees and compensation pursuant to Chap- ter 12 of the Port Townsend Municipal Code must be paid by the street vacation applicant to the City T~easu~er~prior'to the re- cording of this ordinance with the Jefferson County Auditor. - 1 - Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect upon its pass- age, approval and publication in the form and manner provided by law, and after its being recorded with the Jefferson County Auditor pursuant to Section 2 (B) Of this ordinance. Read the first, second and third times, passed by the City Council for the City of Port Townsend on ~L /~ , 1988, and signed by the Mayor of the City on ~R!k ~ , 1988.
