Minubos were read and approved
Llbrarlan'se iteport- -Lamb reported a tremendous increase in circulation for May,
especially in the Children's areas.
Vouchers -- signed
Old Business
Levi Ross discussed plans for an information and referral center for appropriate
technology and indicated that the committee working on this would like to house
it at the library. The board approved allowing space for this center.
Frank and Bev reported on the current status of the Jefferson County Propoeal for
library service, The Washington Library Commission sset aside funds for the proposal
but asked the west Library Service Area to get together with the state library staff
and others to work out some of the problems. Grant will be re- submitted to the
Commission in September.
The no -fines policy was reviewed. Bev recommended that it be extended for 6 more
months as there seems to be a recent trend toward decreased in overdue material
40and the policy has been good for public relations. Board approved.
Teresa has sent a request to the County Commissioners for $3.500 to be included
in the County's budget to help defray costs of coun$y borrowers.
Budget --Bev will write resume and justifications for increases.
Now Business-» -
Board approved giving sword and embroidery to museum#
Copy Machine -- A Xerox copy machine would cost us $170.00 per month, if we chsxged
$ .15 per copy it would take 1,110 copies per reonth to break even. -No action taken.
The July Hoard Meeting will be cancelled. There will be a pot -luck picnic for
board members. Friends of the Library, Library employees, Mayor and City Council at
Fort Townsend, July 29► 6 #30.
