HomeMy WebLinkAbout033077Library Board Meeting March 30, Q977 Presents Goldsmith, Harms, Kilham Nelson, Yandell and Lamb The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Teresa Goldsmith. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Librarian Bev Lamb read the monthly report. She called special attention to the 165s of Kathy Kelly as our current Ceta employee and she will be hiring so eone to fill this position. She also called attention to the upcoming story hours and Cnergy Fair. Frank Kilham reported on the Library Network. The vouchers were signed. Bob Yandell reported that 150 childrens books had been taken to the U of W archives. The weeded books were declared surplus to be sold to the Friends of the Library for $1.00. Books will become property of Friends upon payment. The Friends requested a report from the Board for their monthly meetings. It was suggested that they send a laison person to attend our board meetings. It was reported that the parking lot might get done soon. It was moved that we adopt the revised Addeddum to Policy Statement, page 4 better G. The motion was seconded and passed. Bev will check into Affirmative Action policies so that we can add one to our policy statement. Teresa reported that at the Friends meeting the subject was brought up about not smoking in the library Frank moved that a statement be included i he minutes that the Board support the law that there be no smoking in public meeting r oms. Motion passed. Bev suggested that we make provisions for temporary residents to check out books. It was dedided that we continue a $2.00 charge for non - residents. Teresa reported that the Recreation Center has need of any surplus book shelves. It was moved and seconded that we give our extras to them for temporary use. Motion passed. Frank suggested that we get an estimate for electric heaters in the public meeting room. It was also suggested that we start making known the need for an additional staff persona Meeting adjourned.
