Nelson The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Teresa Goldsmith. The minutes ofthe previous meeting were read and approved. Librarian Beverly Lamb read the monthly report. She called attention to the tremendous increase in circulation. The vouchers were signed. A letter was read from the Jefferson County Historical Society thanking the library for book cases. A post card was read which Eleanor Nelson sent from Spain. In reviewing the policy statement it was suggested that we look at the Addeddus to the policy statement, page 4 Letter G. It was moved that Bev Lamb review this section and present a recommendation at the next meeting. Bob Mandell presented a copy of the letter sent to the Mayor and Council requesting a resolution from them allowing weeded books to be sold. See letter attached. Teresa read a letter to be sent to the council clarifying our position on weeding. ,fit was moved and seconded that the letter be sent. Motion passed. It was suggested that we send a letter to Friends of the Library asking them if they would like to buy the weeded books for fair and equitable resale to the public. Bob Yandell volunteered to draft the letter. It was moved and seconded that the books be cffered at $1,00. Motion passed. Beverly Lamb reported having found several children's books dated pre -1946 which will be going to the U of W archives. Bob Yandell weported on the projector. It was decided to exclude general maintenance from any fees required from a patron. Frank Kilham suggested that Bev Lamb bring to the attention of the mayor our motion for revenue sharing. It was suggested that it sight be just as well to let it die on the table, Frank Kilham asked whet progess had been made on the parking lot. Bob win check on this. Frank suggested that because of the water shortage we consider having a plumber look at the toilets and see if some water saving device can be installed.
