September 19, 1973
The meeting was called to order at the Public Library at 7:30 p.m.
by Chairman F. Kilham. Members present included Ted Yearian,
Frank Kilham, Gerald Barnhart, Zelda Scheyer and Librarian Madge
Wallin.
Due to City Council action at its meeting Tuesday, September 17,
1973, the chairman called for nominations for a new chairman.
F. Kilham was nominated and elected for another year. Also
it was moved and carried that the By -laws and Board Policies
be readopted.
The board now consists of the following people who will serve
for the indicated years:
Zelda Scheyer-------- - - - - -1 year
Leila Harms---------- - - --2 years
Gerald Barnhart----- - - - - -3 years
Ted Yearian -------------- 4 years
Frank Kilham - - - - -- _-- -5 years
A problemAIas arisen in regard to policy as to use of the film
projector. It was decided that this is to be discussed at the
next board meeting.
Also to be brought up for discussion and possible action is
the question as to the length of time an individual should
serve as chairman.
The budget was discussed. At the request of the Librarian,
it was decided to hold with the amounts that were budgeted for
this past year with the exception of a $500.00 increase for
books and a transfer of $1250.00 from Maintenance to Part
Time help.
Some discussion was held in regard to the desirability of acquiring
the adjacent property which has been offered at a quite reasonable
price. This would allow for future expansion as well as for
possible present use. More discussion is to follow.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:05 p.m.
