The Port Townsend Library Board of Trustees met at the Library
August 4, 1964 for the regulsr meeting. Present were Mr. Deits, Dr.
Chuljisn, Mrs. Hunt and Miss Sheehan.
Minutes of the July meeting were read and approved.
Miss Sheehan discussed the library report of the month of duly.
Because of illness she cannot be at the library all of the time, and
felt that she could manage with Piss Baumeister working here under
her supervision, until. the _first of the year, Karen Bower will also
continue to assist dixx :kxxxkkf for two hours a day after school begins.
Miss Baumeister was employed by the Board as an assistant to Miss
Sheehan and under her supervision, until the first of January, at the
rate of :250.00 a month, providing Miss Sheehan found her satisfactory.
Mr. Deits, Chairman review the budget for the coming year, which
will be presented to the city council. Main item of change was the
increase asked in the Librarian's salary. This salary has been budget-
ed as :x;6,000, per ,year. pending approval by the city government.
It was the decision of the Board to raise Karen Bower's salary to
.750 an hour.
