Minutes of January 7th, 1984.
Members of the Port Townsend Library Board met January 7, at the FUblia
Library. Percent were Miss Hill, Mrs Hunt, Mr, Deits, Dr. Chuljian, and
a member of Friends of the Library, Mrs, Nelson.
Minutes of the December meeting were read and approved.
Mrs. Cummings, Librarian, gave her monthly report. She also reviewed
the amounts of money remaining in separate categories of the budget,
Mrs. Nelson talked briefly about the Library Services Act, partic•
ularly House bill 4879 and similar bills. She questioned the Board as
to the advantages stated in these bills in regard to libraries the size
of ours. Mrs. Hunt was instructed to write Miss Cutler for a more absolute
interpretation, of these bills.
Mrs* Cummings discussed the matter of past issues of current magazines
available to the Library from people who are moving. She was instructed
to OtOchase past issues of the National Geographic Magazine to fill out the
missing issues of 1981 and 1983. We ars to subscribe to National Geographic
and not let this subscription lapse again.
