Meeting was called to order at 7 :40
Present: Librarian Bev Lamb, all board members
Minutes were read and approved
Vouchers were signed
Librarian's report (attached)
- -Roger French has not yet checked the roof
—YDCC will begin work on the bathroom Mid- -Dec M.
--the flagpole is fixed
-- Friends of the Library are sponsoring a design project
for bicycle rack cover
-- reported on Interlibrary Loan workshop
There were no communicat%ons
Old Business :.
--no word on the ramp re Td xS
- ..budget was reviewed
*it was recommended -the council members be:.approached
and talked to about budget needs
*alternative funding was discussed (e.g. Friends)
--Bev expressed the need for a new typewriter and to
prioritize its purchase; funds could be taken from
money left over in this year' -s budget (about $1000)
Motion was made and carried that Bev purchase IBM
self -- correcting typewriter on state contracts
New Business:.
µ- -Beth deJarnett reported on the children's -, library
--- highlights included:
*preschool story hours every tuesday have expanded to
include Lincoln School from which 12 teachers are
cooperatinrl
*have had several puppet workshops
*have puppet theater built with $50`. donation
*the collection has ,grown considerably but still great need
300 7th-graders have been given a tour of the library
*.reported that school -age students requested that board
meet elsewhere so as not to disturb their Monday night
study tames
--Dec, 22- will be Christmas open house
