Present: Conrad Schwenke, John Marquarth, Vicki Lea - Shelton, Hazel Lewis, Jim Singleton, Bev Lamb. .trim Singleton presented his dilemma concerning the display case he has had on contractual loan from the library since 1978 or 1979. He is currently goin through bankruptcy and is willing to either return the case or offer 250 for purchase. It was determined that the board would have to offer the case to the general public through a bid system and was unable to accept his offer. The display case is to be returned to the library. He turned in an offer of $200 for the bidding process. The minutes of the September library board meeting were read and approved. Some discussion followed about the selection of the day for the Board meetings. A motion was made, seconded and carried to have the minutes of the library board meetings mailed out prior to the next meeting as a reminder of the meeting and to give an opportunity for board members to think about them prior to the meeting. The Librarian's Report: 1) Showed circulation for September up 16% from September 1980. 2) Reflected enthusiastic response to the volunteer orientations. 3) Reported on the state -wide InterLibrary Loan meeting in Seattle on October 16. The ILL Interest Group of the Washington Library Association sponsors the annual meeting which offers interaction between ILL library staff and ILL policy makers in the state. This meeting showed the need for better training of staff to be able to find information within their own collections. Last year's meeting resulted in an improved ILL request form. Work continues toward equity in the ILL format for the future. 4) Mentioned that the Planning Committee for Libraries in Port Townsend and Jefferson County had planned a trip to Kitsap Regional Library in Bremerton on October 15.
