HomeMy WebLinkAbout0427811­1 4/27/81 The meeting was called to order at 7:45. Vouchers were signed prior to the meeting. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The Librarian's Report is attached. 1. The donation of a microfilm reader was discussed:. Possible location downstairs. Bev will do more research on the selection of a brand new model. Microfilm listings to be requested from the State Library. The acquisition will be announced in the local papers. 2. Discussion of statistics to be made available to the City Council; how we compare with libraries our size. Bev says we arein the middle for circulation statistics. 3. The Eagles Auxiliary donated $100 for large - print books. Committee Reports: 1. The combined board meetings of City and County will be held in Chimacum. Bev and Sharon will possibly co- chair. 2., Vicki Lea- Shelton will sound out the Planning Process Program Director at the Washington Library Association Conference in Ellensburg. 3. Bev has contacted some people for the Planning Committee and some have accepted. The complete list of Committee members will be made available to the Board. There were no communications. Old Business: 1. The meeting of the City Council and the Port Townsend Library Board was discussed. There will be a tour with a presentation of the children's program and refreshments. Both Mayor Barney McClure and David Grove have also been invited. New Business: 1. Summer programs include :a possible joint program with Warren Steurer at the Rec Center: creative dramatics, move- ment, and puppet workshops are possibilities. The Rec Center will donate moneys. 2. The Library does now have a CETA worker who is working part -time to alleviate the staff shortage. The job may possibly last for several more months. The meeting was adjourned at 8:15
