HomeMy WebLinkAbout033082�7j PORT TOWNSEND PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD MEETING - - - March 30, 1982 Present: Konrad Schwencke, Vicki Lea - Shelton, John Marckworth, Laurie Stewart, Beverly Lamb. The Children's and Young Adults' workshop on censorship was discussed. National Library Week upcoming on April 18-24. Vicki reported an excellent Friends meeting. Canvas book bags will be for sale. Made by Hasse & Petrich, cost about $7.50. Meeting with the County Library Board was discussed. It seems to be up to the City to initiate actions in future cooperation. It was resolved to continue interaction and communication. The expressed goal for the joint interaction was to provide quality library service to the residents of Jefferson County. The City and the County need to share information and processes, The contract fee for County library users needs to be re- negotiated in a future meeting. The wiring inthe hall has been completed. The boiler sight glass has been repaired. No leaks have been noted since the repair, Jean Anderson has requested exterior elevations for the Library physical plant evaluation. There were no communications. The flag halyard is caught in the tree. Library volunteers will be covered by industrial insurance. Thoae over age 60 will be 3/4-covered by RSVP. Bev will look into non - profit mailing permit for the Friends. The coating for the outside of the building was discussed. A rough estimate is $100000.
