HomeMy WebLinkAbout092783PORT TOWNSEND LIBRARY BOARD MEETING, September 27, 1983 The meeting was called to order at 7.35. Attending were Konrad Schwenke, Cheryl Van Dyke, Vicki Lea - Shelton, John Marckworth, Laurie Stewart, Bev Lamb, Brent Shirley, Frieda Imislund, Jim Parker. Vouchers were signed. Minutes were read and approved. Committee Reports 1. Building Committee The building committee reported that we have three bids for repair to the canopy: Townsend Builders ($1411.00), Johnson & Little ($148+5.00), and Barnham ($2300.00). It was moved and seconded that the bid from Johnson & Little be chosen as Townsend Builders would not be able to begin the project for several weeks. Rob reports that the parts for the drinking fountain have been mislaid & that it might not be fixable without them. There is a leak at the roof peak and it might be necessary to have a . roofer survey the roof. The fiberglass over the skylight needs replacing. General funding sources and planning were discussed with the Mayor and Council Members present. The need for comprehensive planning with county and other city departments was stressed. 2. Contract Committee No response has been received to letter to the Jefferson County Library re contract negotiations and non - resident service. The negotiations committee will contact Helen Shold and set up anther meeting. OLD BUSINESS Cheryl and Bev presented a 5 page explanation of the library's 1984 budget request and new format. The narrative was approved and will be presented to the Mayor and City Council. The meeting was adjourned at 9:15.
