BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Regular Meeting
September 24, 1990
Call to order 7 :45 pm.
Present: Watson, Sidle, Steurer, Mortenson; Director Bev Shelton,
Staff Beth Dejarnette; Public John Sullivan.
Signed vouchers. Approval of minutes, previous meeting: MSA.
Planning and Goal Setting: Beth — Childrens' services vs. adult needs.
Need community input on make --up of childrens' library, and
young adult. Continuance of Czreer Eenter, books. Possible
Kiwanis help on Discover program. Good to have at Library =
outside school. Beth and Marnie are working at schoolsw
Committee on Goals — to include whole Board, or one member?
Sue and Anne volunteer; Beth to be-*m i.n contact.
Director: budget and financial reports. Discussion of spread sheet
for whole project.
Circulation about level. Furniture all received.
State Conference, White House Conference. City Council Retreat,
report.
More funds needed for books. Need for Friends to generate funds;
not that active now.
Discussion of Pink House use and parking.
Friends: Bev needs summary of funds. Annual meeting; new Adventures •
in Learning, timing and planning?
Lars: Literacy tutoring at Chimacum; possible contribution by Library,.
is John Sullivan, Public, was complimentary; has seen similar problims
elsewhere; has volunteered here.
Building Committee: meetings with Landscaper; probabli planting
this fall..
Roof work will start soon.
Outside water taps being studied. Discussion of moving flagpole.
Bev -- if more concrete, can sell more name— tiles.
New Budget in process, to be presented to Finance Committee
of City Council.
