HomeMy WebLinkAbout2143 Sidewalk Design Standards for Certain Downtown Streets1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO STREETS AND SIDEWALKS, ADOPTING SIDEWALK DESIGN STANDARDS FOR CERTAIN DOWNTOWN STREETS, AND AMENDING SECTION 12.12.103 OF THE PORT TOWNSEND MUNICIPAL CODE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 12.12.130 of the Port Townsend Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: 12.12.130 Standards for sidewalk construction. All sidewalks hereafter constructed, or ((~e~a~)) reconstructed in the city shall be made to conform to the following provisions, unless express permission be granted by the City Council to construct the same otherwise: (1) All sidewalks hereafter constructed, or ((~a~)) --~ --~ ~c~e-~ on either side of any of the following named streets, and parts of streets shall be ((~we~ve-~ee~-w~e)) ~ conformance with the Port Townsend Stree~scape Desian Workbook. dated December i6, ~987, which is adopted herein bv reference: On Water Street from Jackson Street to Walker Street; on Washington Street from Jackson Street to Taylor Street; on Tyler Street, Taylor Street, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 Adams Street, Quincy Street, Madison Street and Monroe Street at all points between Water Street and Jefferson Street. Severability, In the event any one or more of the provisions of this ordinance shall for any reason be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect or invalidate any other provision of this ordinance, but this ordinance shall be construed and enforced as if such invalid provision had not been contained therein; provided, that any provision which shall for any reason be held by reason of its extent to be invalid shall be deemed to be in effect to the extent permitted by law. Section 3. Effective Date.
