A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, DECLARING RATES OF COMPENSATION FOR CITY COUNCIL
MEMBERS AND PROVIDING FOR PARTICIPATION IN AND CONTRIBUTION TO A
COMPENSATION PLAN]
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend as follows:
Section 1. City Council members shall be compensated the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500)
per month for the performance of their duties and attendance at City Council meetings. This
compensation is separate from amounts entitled to be paid for reimbursement for expenses.
Section 2. The Mayor shall be compensated the sum of Seven Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($750)
per month for the performance of his or her duties and attendance at City Council meetings and
other City business. This change in compensation shall not be applicable to the incumbent mayor
during the current term, and shall only be effective for the position of Mayor on election of the
Mayor in January 2008. This compensation is separate from amounts entitled to be paid for
reimbursement for expenses.
Section 3. City Council members are eligible to participate in the ICMA retirement plan or
another qualified deferred compensafion plan, with City matching contribution up to 5% of
Councilor compensation.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this fifteenth day of October, 2007.
