Port Townsend Arts Commission
October 2,2013, 3pm, Upstairs Meeting Room,City Hall
Members Present: Stan Rubin (Chair), Kris Morris, Erin Fristad, Laureen Martin, Linda Okazaki (minutes)
Members Excused: Dan Groussman, Nancy Rody
Motion for approval of September minutes as amended by EF, seconded by LM, unanimous approval.
Chair Report: One Act Play competition completed successfully with 16 submissions of high quality. Six
were selected as winners with two being new winners.The work was read anonymously. Artist Trust
acknowledged PTAC for their support of the Edge program.
Nancy Rody regretfully has resigned her position on the PTAC due to personal health concerns.
Budget Report: Strike$125 from One Act Playwriting entry.
Funding Support:
EF made a motion to support The Writer's Workshop presentation at the Cotton Building Oct 5tH 12tH
and January 15t", seconded by KM.
Old Business: N. Gale Wallis is to be awarded the Angel of the Arts Award. Although she will not be
present, she will have friends receive her award and proclamation.
Janette Force is to be awarded this year's Patron of the Arts. An Honorary Arts Award signed by PTAC
Chair Stan Rubin and Mayor David King was presented posthumously to Lockwood Dennis and will be
sent to his wife, Hiroko in Boulder, Colorado.
Laureen, Kris, Linda Erin and Stan agreed to assist the set-up at the Cotton Building.
Public Art:
EF said the details of the Artist Call will be up on the PTAC website by January 1, 2014. EF read the
description to the Artist Call to the Arts Commission for comment.
Meeting adjourned at 5pm.
