RESOLUTION NO. 07-017
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL
COOPERATIVE PURCHASING AGREEMENT WITH WASHINGTON SCHOOL
INFORMATION PROCESSING COOPERATIVE (WSIPC)
WHEREAS, Chapter 39.34 RCW permits public agencies to execute cooperative
purchasing agreements; and
WHEREAS, these purchasing agreements allow government agencies to share favorable
contracts with each other without replicating the bidding process (piggy-backing); and
WHEREAS, Purchasing Cooperatives increase tJ:le buying power of each government
agency; and
WHEREAS, WSIPC bids and negotiates technology contracts used by school districts
and other local agencies throughout the State of Washington.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend that the City Manager is hereby authorized to sign an Interlocal Purchasing Agreement
with WSIPC.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a special business
meeting thereof, held this ninth day of July 2007.
