HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-014 readopting the historic name of the Hudson Point Property located in the PT historic district RESOLUTION NO. 07-014 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND READOPTING THE mSTORIC NAME OF THE HUDSON POINT PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE PORT TOWNEND HISTORIC DISTRICT WHEREAS, the Port of Port Townsend acquired the Hudson Point (facility aka Point Hudson) from the Federal Government in 1956, and WHEREAS, the Port of Port Townsend, after the expiration of a forty-year lease, regained operational control of the facility in April of 2002; and WHEREAS, after researching the historical name for the facility, the Commission of the Port of Port Townsend moved to readopt the historic name of Hudson Point pursuant to Port Resolution No. 474-06; and WHEREAS, it is preferable that the City and Port of Port Townsend be consistent in referencing the Hudson Point property, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council ofthe City of Port Townsend, I. That the subject property be renamed Hudson Point and all future reference, signage, and legal documents refer to it as such. 2. That all references to Point Hudson in the Port Townsend Municipal Code and other official City legal documents (for example, comprehensive plan, maps) are hereby deemed changed to Hudson Point; Provided, this section shall not require any immediate amendment to existing documents to change a reference to Point Hudson to Hudson Point, but such change shall be made to existing documents if and when applicable pages to documents are otherwise updated. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, that the subject property be renamed Hudson Point and all future reference, signage, and legal documents refer to it as such.
