RESOLUTION NO. 13-018
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL
MASTER CONTRACT USAGE AGREEMENT WITH WASHINGTON STATE
DEPARTMENT OF ENTERPRISE SERVICES (DES)
WHEREAS, Chapter 39.34 RCW permits public agencies to execute cooperative
purchasing agreements; and
WHEREAS, these purchasing agreements allow govermnent agencies to share favorable
contracts with each other without replicating the bidding process (piggy-backing); and
WHEREAS, Purchasing Cooperatives increase the buying power of each government
agency; and
WHEREAS, DES bids and negotiates contracts used by State and local agencies
throughout the State of Washington.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend as follows:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to sign an Intergovernmental Master Contract
Usage Agreement with Washington Department of Enterprise Services.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a r ular meeting
thereof, held this 17th day of June 2013.
