RESOLUTION NO. 06-038
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON APPROVING ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES TO THE
DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council previously approved Resolution 04-023 (May 24, 2004)
and Resolution 05-015 (March 7, 2005) approving changes to the Development Services
Department (DSD) to address problems and make changes in development review and
permitting, including organizational changes; and
WHEREAS, on recommendation ofthe City Manager and DSD Director, the City
Council determines it appropriate to approve further changes in the organizational structure as
shown in the attachments to this Resolution in order to implement upgrades in positions to
provide needed services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend as follows:
I. The City Council approves for the Development Services Department the positions,
structure, and the reorganization shown in the "Department of Development Services -
Revised" (attached).
2. The City Manager is authorized to fill the positions shown in the "Department of
Development Services - Revised" (attached), however, the Council directs the City
Manager not to fill the new Permit Technician position without further Council approval,
following report and recommendation by the City Manager that permit activity has
increased to justify filling the position.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 4th day of December, 2006.
