RESOLUTION NO. 13-012
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING A VOLUNTEER COMPENSATION PACKAGE IN
CONNECTION WITH THE MOUNTAIN VIEW POOL
RECITAL:
To foster partnerships between community members and the Mountain View Pool, and recognize
work by volunteers at the Mountain View Pool, the City Manager, Director of Public Services
and the pool manager, recommend adopting the following volunteer compensation package:
1. Volunteers must complete City of Port Townsend Volunteer application before starting
work.
2. Hours will be monitored by Pool Manager and submitted weekly.
3. Volunteer positions that require specific certifications will be coordinated by Pool
Manager to ensure proper training and certification is given.
4. Volunteers who work a cumulative 10 hours will receive one 20 use pool pass valued at
$85.00—which will expire in one year after receipt.
5. Volunteers who are minors will require parental consent— and be subject to the same
labor laws and guidelines that minor employees are.
6. A volunteer will not be able to receive more than one pool pass per month.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend as follows:
a. The City Manager, working in conjunction with the Director of Public Services and the pool
manager, is authorized to adopt and implement the volunteer compensation package set forth
above.
b. This Resolution is effective April 2, 2013.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 18th day of March 2013.
