RESOLUTION NO. 06-007
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING INTEFUND LOAN TO THE FIRE
AND EMS FUND FROM THE EQUIPMENT RENTAL REVOLVING FUND
WHEREAS, the Fire and EMS Fund (Fund 171) is a new fund that is transitioning its
operations to a joint operating agreement with East Jefferson Fire Rescue; and
WHEREAS, the Fire and EMS Fund has a current cash shortfall, and the Fire and
EMS Fund currently does not have sufficient resources to provide cash flow without interim
funding support; and
WHEREAS, reserve cash in an amount sufficient to meet the Fire and EMS Fund
interim funding needs is presently on hand within the Equipment Rental Revolving Fund
(Fund 500) to accommodate an interfund loan through the end of the fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend as follows:
SECTION 1. The City of Port Townsend Finance Director is hereby authorized and
directed to make interfund loans from the Equipment Rental Revolving Fund (Fund 500) to
the Fire and EMS Fund (Fund 171) in an amount not to exceed $100,000 to meet the cash
flow needs of the Fire and EMS Fund. This loan shall bear interest at a rate of 4.5% per
annum and shall be repaid to the Equipment Rental Revolving Fund on or before December
31,2006.
SECTION 2. Severability. If any provision of this Resolution or its application to
any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the Resolution, or the
application of the provision to other persons or circumstances is not affected.
SECTION 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force
immediately upon its passage.
