RESOLUTION 12-045
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL
COOPERATIVE PURCHASING AGREEMENT WITH THE JEFFERSON COUNTY
LIBRARY
WHEREAS, Chapter 39.34 RCW permits public agencies to execute cooperative
purchasing agreements; and
WHEREAS, these purchasing agreements allow government agencies to share favorable
contracts with each other without replicating the bidding process (piggy-backing); and
WHEREAS, Purchasing Cooperatives increase the buying power of each government
agency; and
WHEREAS, the agreement will allow the Port Townsend Library and Jefferson County
Library to benefit from cost breaks for large purchases and will enable them to avoid duplication
of effort on bidding processes for similar products and services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend as follows that the City Manager is hereby authorized to sign an Interlocal Purchasing
Agreement with the Jefferson County Library.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 15th day of October 2012.
