RESOLUTION NO. 12-036
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT A LOAN
FROM THE WASHINGTON STATE PUBLIC WORKS BOARD PUBLIC WORKS
TRUST FUND FOR THE 5MG RESERVOIR REPLACEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City's current 5-million gallon concrete water storage reservoir is
reaching the end of its service life and lacks necessary seismic protection; and
WHEREAS, the reservoir serves as a critical piece of the water supply and safety
infrastructure for the City,
WHEREAS, it is recommended to replace the current reservoir with a 5-million gallon or
larger steel tank in accordance with AWWA D100 at an estimated cost of$5,000,000; and
WHEREAS, the 5-Million Gallon Reservoir Tank Replacement project loan is for
$2,104,000 with a$315,600 local match to cover a portion of the project cost; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend desires to accept the Washington State Public
Works Board Public Works Trust Fund Construction Loan of$2,104,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend that the City Manager is hereby authorized to accept the Washington State Public
Works Board Public Works Trust Fund Construction Loan
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 17th day of September 2012.
