A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER APPROVE AND SIGN DOCUMENTS
RELATED TO TIMBER SALES LAYOUT AND CRUISE OF CITY -OWNED
FORESTLAND, WITHIN AVAILABLE FUNDING AND APPROVED BUDGET.
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the importance of providing revenue for capital
water projects; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend has maintained forestland at City Lake, Lords
Lake, and in an 80 acre parcel adjacent to the west boundary of the city for the purpose of
benefiting the City's water system; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to move forward with determining the
potential income from timber sales; and
WHEREAS, the City will contract with a professional forester to provide services in
conformance with City and State public works laws in a fair and timely fashion; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend that the City Manager is hereby authorized to approve and sign documents related to
timber sales layout and cruise of City -owned forestland, with available funding and approved
budget.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this fourth day of September 2012.
