ORDINANCE No. -L690
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE CUTTING OF
CERTAIN TREES FROM STREET RIGHT OF WAYS
EXCEPT UPON CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR
SESSION ASSEMBLED, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. No tree. having a diameter of twelve inches
or more, when measured one inch above normal grade, shall
be cut down, damaged or removed from any street right of
way in the City of Port Townsend, except upon approval of
the City Council by motion passed at a regular Council
meeting.
Section 2. Nothing herein shall be construed to
prevent the necessary pruning of trees for purposes of r
cultivation, ornamental purposes or to protect telephone,
electrical or other above ground wiring.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect
upon its passage, approval and publication in the form
and manner required by law.
Passed by the Council and approved by the Mayor
