HomeMy WebLinkAbout1682ORDINANCE NO. 1682 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 17 AND 18 of ORDINANCE NO. 1635, AND CHANGING TILE AGE LIMIT FOR PERSONS AUTHORIZED TO CONSUME LIQUOR AND TO 111101.1 LIQUOR MAY BE SOLD. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 17 0£ Ordinance 1635, passed in 1972, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 17. Any person who sells, gives or delivers any intoxicating liquor or beverage to any person less than nineteen (19) years of age, is guilty of a misdemeanor, provided, that nothing herein shall prohibit the furnishing of intoxicating beverages to any person for religious or medicinal purposes or as a part of meals in the family home of the person consuming said beverage." Section 2. Section:18 of Ordinance No. 1635, passed in 1972, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 18. Any person who is less than nineteen (19) years of age, and who is. in possession of or has consumed or is consuming any intoxicating beverage; other than for religious or medi- cinal purposes or in'connection with a meal taken in his family home or.under the supervision of his parents, is guilty of a misdemeanor." Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its pass- age, approval and publication in the form and manner required by law.
