RECONFIGURING GOVERNING BODY MEMBERSHIP OF THE PENINSULA HOUSING AUTHORITY
THE BOARDS OF CLALLAM AND JEFFERSON COUNTIES AND THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND find that:
1. In December 2010, the Peninsula Housing Authority was established as an agency of Clallam and
Jefferson counties as the successor entity to the Housing Authority of the County of Clallam and the
Housing Authority of Jefferson County.
2. The Board of Housing Commissioners consists of eight members—five appointed by the Clallam
County Board of Commissioners and three appointed by the Jefferson County Board of
Commissioners. Clallam County is required to appoint at least one member who is "directly assisted"
meaning being a public housing resident identified as the tenant on a lease or a recipient of
assistance from the Authority's Housing Choice Voucher Program.
3. The Executive Director of the Peninsula Housing Authority asked that the configuration of the
membership be changed to require the "directly assisted" member be appointed by either Clallam or
Jefferson County. All parties to the resolution establishing the Peninsula Housing Authority support
the proposed change.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT JOINTLY RESOLVED by the governing bodies of Clallam County, Jefferson
County, and the City of Port Townsend:
1. The governing body of the Peninsula Housing Authority is reconfigured to include a least one directly
assisted member appointed by either Jefferson County or Clallam County.
2. All other provisions of Clallam County Resolution 96, 2010, Jefferson County Resolution 48-10, and
City of Port Townsend Resolution 10-37 remain in full force and effect.
