HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/21/1969 22~j' MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SESSION OF OCTOBER 7,1969 CONTINUED PÆEITION FOR STREET VACATION 8 The following petition was presented and acted upon as follows: The undersigned, constituting all of the abutting owners upon the portion of street requested to be vacated, here and hereby respectfully petition and renuest that the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, cause to be vacated that portion of "0)" Street between Beach street and Cherry Street. Petit;.oners agree to pay all costs of vacation, including costs of publication of an ordinance thêrefor. '.. James W. Parker, Collen A. Parker Lee Arey, Doroth E. Arey. I Mayor Smith set a date of November 18th for a public hearing on the above petition. I Mayor Smith said that under old business, a hold over item of a requested plat, the Pederson Sahlie Plat, it was referred to the planning commission and placed on the agenda for tonight. Mayor Smith asked the plnnning com'lissi m if they have had a chance to discuss t:þ.e plat. lVIr Lindquist, chairmnn of the planning commiss',on said that at a previous meeting it ¡.vas discussed and thère had been a coùplc of questions raised that had to do with lot size but no official action had been taken. Äfter considerable discussion on the two lots size and city ut~lities envolved, Councilman Hoglund made a motion seconded by Councilman Judy that the city accept the Pederson Plat as a preliminàrYPlat. Motion carried. <J Mayor Smith said he 'Nould like to submit to the council the names of Kay Wojt and Kay Minor as members of the planning commiss ion, he said the ne\v aI)pO. ntmen ts are to replace two members who have resigned. It was moved by Councilnlan Ruby seconded by Councilman Scheyer that tho appointment of Kay Wojt and Kay Minor to the planning commission be approved. Motion carried. 8 Mayor Smith mentioned that due to a new law, the final budget for the city coWrl not be adopt d until the Is t Monday in December. He said he was working on tho prrj:liminary budget at till present time [md felt there should be ?- couple of budget meetings before December. Mr Chin, of Kramer, Chin & Mayo, presented the Mayor with an artist drawing of the New City Hall to be. ADJOURNMENT As there was no further business to come before the council at this time, it was moved by Councilman Lindsey seconded by Councilman Tvloody that the meetil1g. do now adjourn. RESQLUTION 69-1 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING AND APPROVING THE SIX YEAR CITY STHEE'.r CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM FOR THE YEAnS 1970 'It'HROUGH 1975. I THE CI TY COUNCIL OF TB-E CI TY OF POR':i:£, TOWNSEND, ViASHINGTON IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEIvIBLED, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE: That the six year construction program fop city streets, heretofore presented and considered by the City Engineer and City Street Superintendent, with the approval of the City Coun~i1, and annexed hereto, is here and hereby adopted and approved as the comprehensive plan for the six yearscconstruction for city streets in the years 1970 tl~ough 1975. Under nevI business, Councilman Moody so.id he had a roques to install a fire hydrant at Adelma Beach, he said it was due to a road that had been closed and the fire truck tanker could not refill water in the area that they had to go back as fGr ::\s Chimacum to refill. Mayor Smitfu said he would take ,it up with the Water-Department and see what could 'be done. I CouncilInan Ruby requested a street li[~ht to be installed at 'Cherry and 19th by the Junior High School, he said it was a very dark. intersection and a light was needed.
