AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO FIRE PROTECTION REPEALING
CHAPTER 15.04 OF THE PORT TOWNSEND MUNICIPAL CODE
WHICH HAD ADOPTED THE FIRE PREVENTION CODE OF THE
AMERICAN INSURANCE ASSOCIATION
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend has previously adopted the Uniform Fire Code
in Chapter 16 of the Municipal Code, and
WHEREAS, the City no longer wishes to enforce the Fire Prevention Code of the
American Insurance Association as the Uniform Fire Code has replaced the Fire Preven_fion
Code as the accepted uniform code in the western states, Now Therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND IN REGULAR SESSION
ASSEMBLED DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 15.04 of the Port Townsend Municipal Code is hereby repealed as it has
been replaced by the Uniform Fire Code adopted as part of the building regulations for the City
adopted as part of Title 16 of the Port Townsend Municipal Code.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective five days after its passage and publication as
provided by law.
Read for the first, second and third times and passed by the City Council of the City of
Port Townsend, Washington at a regular meeting thereof held this ]6'O'' day of
1993.
