AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 1993 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM TO INCLUDE REPAIR OF THE HALLER FOUNTAIN WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a Capital Improvements Program as part of the 1993 budget; and WHEREAS, repair of the Haller Fountain was not previously listed as part of the Capital Improvements Program as funding had not been identified for the project; and WHEREAS, the Port Townsend Kiwanis organization has undertaken to fund the majority of the project through donations and fundraising; and WHEREAS, certain unanticipated repairs to the base of the fountain are necessary in addition to the repairs to the fountain in itself; and WHEREAS, Kiwanis funding cannot cover the unexpected cost of reconstruction of the fountain base and the City desires to provide the necessary remaining funding of up to $12,000 from the one quarter percent real estate excise tax; '¢,q-IEREAS, Kiwanis is donating $3,000 for reconstruction for a total expected cost of $15,000; THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: The Capital Improvement Program contained in the 1993 budget for the City of Port Townsend is hereby amended to provide partial emergency funding in the amount of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000) for reconsmaction work on the Haller Fountain. This funding is to be up to $12,000 provided from the real estate excise tax levied by the City and $3,000 from contributions by Kiwanis. This ordinance shall become effective five days after its passage and publication as provided by law.
