HomeMy WebLinkAbout2368 Supplemental Budget AppropriationsORDINANCE NO. 25~ AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $7,800 TO THE CURRENT EXPENSE FUND; $280 TO THE STREET FUND; $66,300 TO THE HOTEL/MOTEL TRANSIENT TAX FUND; $55,000 TO THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND; $86,000 TO THE 1993 G 0 BOND PROJECTS FUND; $2,000 TO THE WATER-SEWER FUND; MAKING FINDINGS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, UPON REVIEW OF THE 1993 BUDGET FOR THE CITY MAKES THE FOLLOWING FINDINGS: A) On April 19, 1993, the City Council directed that an appropriation from contingency funds be made for use by the Historic Preservation Commission. B) On May 3, 1993, the City Council directed that an appropriation be made to purchase property on the southwest corner of Water and Adams Streets. C) On May 17, 1993, the City Council directed that an appropriation be made for the free bicycle program and for the purchase of recording equipment for use in the Council Chambers. D) On June 9, 1993, the city received reimbursement for expenses incurred to handle a hazardous material spill. E) On June 21, 1993, reimbursement for equipment rental in the Street fund was received to offset maintenance costs. F) On July 6, 1993, the City Council directed that an appropriation be made for repairs to Union Wharf, the Tidal Park, the Marine Park building, and further improvements to City Dock. G) The foregoing emergencies were not reasonably foreseeable at the time of filing of the city's preliminary budget and requires expenditures of money not provided for in the annual budget for 1993. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The sum of SEVEN THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS ($7,800.00) is here and hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 1993 budget for the City of Port Townsend in the Current Expense Fund to purchase supplies for handling hazardous materials spills, support for the free bicycle program, support for the Historic Preservation Commission, and recording equipment with contingency funds and reimbursements received as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto as though fully set forth herein. Section 2. The sum of TWO HUNDRED EIGHTY DOLLARS ($280.00) is here and hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 1993 budget for the City of Port Townsend in the Street Fund to pay for equipment rental from reimbursement funds received as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto as though fully set forth herein. Section 3. The sum of SIXTY SIX THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($66,300.00) is here and hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 1993 budget for the City of Port Townsend in the Hotel/Motel Transient Tax Fund to finance renovation of the Marine Park Visual and Performing Arts Building form unappropriated ending fund balance as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto as though fully set forth herein. Section 4. The sum of FIFTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($55,000.00) is here and hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 1993 budget for the City of Port Townsend in the Capital Improvement Fund for the purchase of land from unappropriated ending fund balance as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto as though fully set forth herein. Section 5. The sum of EIGHT SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS ($86,000.00) is here and hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 1993 budget for the City of Port Townsend in the 1993 General Obligation Bond Project Fund for repairs to Union Wharf, the Tidal Park, land purchase, and improvements to City Dock from the proceeds of bond sales as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto as though fully set forth herein. Section 6. The sum of TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2,000.00) is here and hereby appropriated as a supplement to the 1993 budget for the City of Port Townsend in the Water - Sewer Fund for the Purchase of recording equipment to be funded from sewer service fees as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto as though fully set forth herein. Section 7. There is here and hereby found and declared to be an emergency requiring the foregoing appropriations to the 1993 budget for the City of Port Townsend. Section 8. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage, approval, and publication in the form and manner provided by law.
