CONSISTING OF TAX PARCELS 8,9,31, AND THE
SOUTH 1/2 OF TAX PARCEL 21, FROM R-IA TO P-I
ZONING AND AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP
OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND; AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. THE PROPERTY
IS MOSTLY CONTAINED WITHIN THE S 1/2 OF THE
SE 1/4 OF THE SE 1/4 OF SECTION 34, T~NSHIP
31N, P~ANGE 1W, AND THE N 1/2 OF THE NE 1/4 OF
THE NE 1/4 OF SEC. 3, TOWNSHIP 3ON, RANGE 1W.
WHEREAS, due hearings have been held and appropriate
Findings and Conclusions made as provided for by the Zoning
Ordinance of the City of Port Townsend, and
WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Port Townsend has
approved of the rezoning of the property described below pursuant
to its Findings of Fact, Conclusions and Conditions, now,
therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR
SESSION ASSEMBLED, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Official Zoning MaP of the City of Port
Townsend is here and hereby amended to change from R-IA to P-I
zoning those lands in Port Townsend described as follows:
TAX PARCELS 8,9,31, AND THE SOUTH 1/2 OF TAX
PARCEL 21. THE PROPERTY IS MOSTLY CONTAINED
WITHIN THE S 1/2 OF THE SE 1/4 OF THE SE 1/4
OF SECTION 34, TOWNSHIP 31N, ~GE 1W, AND
THE N 1/2 OF THE NE 1/4 OF THE NE 1/4 OF SEC.
3, TOWNSHIP 3ON, RANGE 1W.
The property to be rezoned is further
identified on the map attached hereto as
Exhibit 1.
Section 2. Condemnation proceedings are currently pending
on the property. The rezoning of this property is expressly
contingent upon successful completion of the condemnation
proceedings. In the event the School District acquires less than
the full 34 acre parcel, the property rezoned by this ordinance
shall be limited to the area actually acquired by the School
District.
Section 3- Should the School District not complete
construction of the Middle School associated with this rezone
within three years after the effective date of this ordinance,
the property shall revert back to R-IA zoning unless further

action is taken by the City Council to extend the time frame for
reversion of the zoning.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its
passage, approval and publication in the form and manner provided
by law.
