AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3.36.020 OF THE PORT TOWNSEND MUNICIPAL CODE TO ESTABLISH A SERVICE FEE OF NINE AND ONE-HALF (9-1/2) CENTS PER GALLON FOR SEPTAGE ACCEPTED AT THE CITY'S BIOSOLIDS COMPOSTING FACILITY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 3.36.020 of the Port Townsend Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Ao 3.36.020 Public Works Service Fee Schedule. The fees and charges listed hereinbelow for services of the Public Works Department are hereby established. The fees and charges shall be paid in advance unless an alternate method of payment is specifically approved by the Director of Public Works. The continuance or establishment of water and/or sewer service by the City shall be contingent upon payment of all fees and charges contained herein. The following schedule of fees and charges shall be used: Fees and Charges Summary Description Charges Developer Application and Preapplication Fee Under Section 12.04.180 Water, Sewer, Storm Drainage and Street and Utility Development Permit $180. O0~ ~The preapplication fee shall be credited against the charges for a development application for water, sewer, storm drainage and street and utility permits when an application for the same proposal which is filed within twelve (12) months after the preapplication is acted upon. If more than four and one-half (4-1/2) hours of total review and process time is required, an additional hourly charge based on the rates set forth in Chapter 3.36 shall be made. ordinans\servchg5.doc Septage Collection Charge 9.5 cents per gallonz 2This equates to a rate of $22.78 per wet ton. Jefferson County may add an additional charge to cover their administrative, handling, and collection costs as provided by contract with the City. Section 2. This ordinance shall take eff~t five (5) days after its passage, approval, and publication as provided by law.
