RESOLUTION NO. 05-029
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE 2006-2011 SIX-YEAR TRANSPORTATION
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM TO CLARIFY FUNDING OF A PROJECT AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT THIS TO THE STATE
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the 2006-20011 Six Year Plan with
Resolution No. 05-026 in June 2005; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes the State of Washington Department of Transportation to
obligate funds which were allocated to the City for the Discovery Road, Sheridan to Sherman
Streets Sidewalk Project construction in 2006; and
WHEREAS, those funds were shown on the 2006-20011 Six Year Plan as a portion of
the Discovery Road Improvements Projects and therefore will not change the overall funding
requirements for this project; and
WHEREAS, those funds must be shown on the 2006-20011 Six Year Plan as intended
use to the Discovery Road, Sheridan to Sherman Streets Sidewalk Project in order to be obligated
for State of Washington Department of Transportation construction funding; and
WHEREAS, construction of the Discovery Road, Sheridan to Sherman Streets Sidewalk
Project is in 2006 and therefore the 2006 - 2011 TIP is the only Plan that will need to be
amended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council ofthe City of Port
Townsend that the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign this resolution approving the amended
Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program for 2006-2011 for submission to the State
Department of Transportation.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting
thereof, held this 18th day of July, 2001.
