HomeMy WebLinkAbout2902 Swimming Program Fees Ordinance No. 2902 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND REVISING AND ESTABLISHING FEES FOR THE SWIMMING PROGRAMS AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2730 WHEREAS, beginning January 1, 1995, the City agreed to take over the public recreation program and management of the swimming pool, located at Mountain View Elementary School and owned by the Port Townsend School District; and WHEREAS, Ordinance 2730 (passed December 20, 1999) set fees for Recreation and Swim Programs; and WHEREAS, the City Council determines, following recommendation from the Finance and Budget Committee, that it is appropriate to defray City costs, to modifY fees as set forth in this Ordinance, including, to provide a 25% differential for Non-City residents whose taxes, unlike City residents, do not support the swimming pool. NOW THEREFORE, the City Council ofthe City of Port Townsend, in regular session hereby ordains as follows: SECTION 1: From and after October 1,2005, the following fees and charges are established and in effect for the swimming pool: Swimming Fees (Per Participant) Single Use - Youth 20-Admission Pass - Youth Single Use - Adult 20-Admission Pass - Adult Single Use - Senior 20-Admission Pass - Senior Single Use - Kiddie Senior Aquarobics Pass, 20 Admissions Adult Aquarobics Pass, 20 Admissions Swim Lessons, 10 Lessons 12-Month Pass (All Ages) 6-Month Pass (All Ages) City Resident $2.50 $35.00 $3.00 $50.00 $2.50 $35.00 $1.75 $50.00 $60.00 $45.00 $275.00 $175.00 N on-Resident $3.00 $43.75 $4.00 $62.50 $3.00 $43.75 $2.00 $62.50 $75.00 $56.25 $343.75 $218.75 SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to set special rates for swimming programs for promotional purposes or other special events. Such revisions of the above fees and charges shall be for limited periods of time only, and need not be approved by the Council. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage, approval, and publication in the form and manner provided by law. I Ordinance 2902 SECTION 4. Severability. If any clause, sentence, paragraph, section or part of this Ordinance or its application to any person or circumstance is held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such order or judgment shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of the remainder of any part of this Ordinance. To this end, the provisions of each clause, sentence, paragraph, section or part of this law are declared severable.
