RESOLUTION NO. 05-016
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CITY HALL
LEASE WITH JEFFERSON COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY
WHEREAS, City and Jefferson County Historical Society (JCHS) have
cooperated in planning and efforts to restore City Hall, and partial restoration of City Hall
is under construction according to the plans and specifications of a construction contract
between the City and Dawson Construction dated December 15, 2004; and
WHEREAS, City staff and JCHS have negotiated a new Lease Agreement to
replace the 1971 JCHS lease for operation of a museum at City Hall; and
WHEREAS, the Council desires by this resolution to authorize the City Manager
to execute the Lease Agreement on behalf of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Port Townsend that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute City Hall Lease
Agreement with Jefferson County Historical Society, in the form attached to this
Resolution as Exhibit A.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular
meeting thereof, held this twenty-first day of March, 2005.
