RESOLUTION NO. 05-002
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND
EXECUTE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENTS WITH W &H PACIFIC AND
WITH VAN ALLER SURVEYING FOR UP TO $50,000 FOR THE INITIAL PHASE OF
CONSULT ANT SERVICES FOR THE HOWARD STREET TRAFFIC LIGHT AND
STREET EXTENSION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City has included the Howard Street traffic light and street
extension and improvements in the 2005 CIP; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the City to utilize Contractors as
independent entities to provide professional services for the initial phase of the Howard
Street Improvements project; and
WHEREAS, such services require specialized expertise and training; and
WHEREAS, the City does not have sufficient staff or expertise to conduct such
services itself; and
WHEREAS, the City and a search committee have interviewed qualified firms
selected from the City's Professional Services Roster for the design and project
management and LID support portions of the project; and
WHEREAS, the City and the search committee selected W & H Pacific as the
best qualified firm for this project; and
WHEREAS, the City presently has a Professional Services Agreement with
Van Aller Surveying for surveying services; and
WHEREAS, the City would like to renew that contract for 2005,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council ofthe City of Port
Townsend authorizes the City Manager to negotiate and execute Professional Services
Agreements with W &H Pacific and with Van Aller Surveying for up to $50,000 for the initial
phase of consultant services for the Howard Street traffic light and street extension project.

thereof, held this third day of January, 2005.
