HomeMy WebLinkAbout2433 Salaries for Certain City PositionsOrdinance No. :Zt/B~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND ESTABLISHING. THE SALARIES FOR THE POSITIONS OF CITY POOL GUARD, GUARD/TEACHER, AND POOL MANAGER EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 1995. WHEREAS, beginning January 1, 1995, the City has agreed to take over the public recreation program at the swimming pool, located at the Mountain View Elementary School and owned by the port Townsend School District; and WHEREAS, the pool is scheduled to be closed on or around February 1 through approximately April 1995, during which time the City plans to adopt an ordinance establishing a new pool program, to include new fees, staffing, and services to be provided; and WHEREAS, until the pool closes the City desires to maintain the existing level of staff and salaries; NOW, THEREFOR, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend does ordain as follows: Section 1, From and after January 1, 1995, the following City Positions are established and salaries fixed not to exceed the stated sums, which salaries shall be paid monthly. These positions and salaries are established on a temporary basis up until pool closure onor around February 1, 1995. 6 Guards at ......................... ~ . . $ 5.00/hour 1 Guard at ............................. 5.75/hour 1 Guard/Teacher at ........................ 6.50/hour 2 Guards/Teachers at ....................... 7.18/hour 1 Pool Manager at ......................... 8.00/hour The following rates are established until the pool closes on or aroUnd February 1, 1995: A. Swim lessons ....................... $ 28.00 for 8 lessons Single admission fees ........... Adult . . $1.75 ......................... Child ... 1.25 ......................... Senior.. 1.25 C. The City will honor the 20 admission passes through to pool closing, but will not sell any new .passes. Section 2. Any and all actions taken pursuant to the authorizing of this Ordinance but prior to its passage are hereby ratified and confirmed. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days after the date of its publication · in the manner provided by law.
