AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND ESTABLISHING
THE WAGES FOR THE POSITIONS OF CITY POOL LWEGUARD, AND
WATERSAFETY INSTRUCTOR, EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 1995
WHEREAS, beginning January 1, 1995, the City agreed to take over the public
recreation program at the swimming pool, located at the Mountain View Elementary School and
owned by the Port Townsend School District; and
WHEREAS, following numerous public meetings of the Parks, Recreation and Property
Committee of the City Council, and based on extensive public comments and testimony and
input from the Port Townsend School District, the City has established a new pool program, to
include new fees, staffing, and services to be provided,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, in regular session
hereby ordains as follows:
Section 1. From and after May 1, 1995, the following City positions are established
and wages fixed not to exceed the stated sums, which wages shall be paid monthly.
Lifeguard at ........................ $ 6.50/hour
Watersafety Instructor at ................. $7.50/hour
Section 2, Any and all actions taken pursuant to the authority of this Ordinance but prior
to its passage are hereby ratified and confirmed.
This Ordinance shall take effect May 1, 1995.
