AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2454 OF THE CITY OF
PORT TOWNSEND ESTABLISHING THE WAGES FOR THE POSITIONS
OF CITY POOL LIFEGUARD, AND WATERSAFETY INSTRUCTOR,
EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 2, 1995
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to give the Public Works Director the flexibility
to increase salaries for Water Safety Instructors to be equivalent to other instructors the City has
hired, as well as other instructors the Port Townsend School District has hired; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to pay instructors adequately so as to retain qualified and
experienced instructors,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, in regular session
hereby ordains as follows:
Section 1, From and after May 1, 1995, the following City positions are established
and wages fixed not to exceed the stated sums, which wages shall be paid monthly.
Lifeguard at ........................ $ 6.50/hour
Watersafety Instructor at .................. $7.50510.00/hour
Section 2. Any and all actions taken pursuant to the authority of this Ordinance but prior
to its passage are hereby ratified and confirmed.
This Ordinance shall take effect October 2, 1995.
Read for the first, second, and third times and passed by the City Council of the City of
Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular meetin held this 18th day of September,
1995.
