HomeMy WebLinkAbout2520 Salaries for Certain Police and Fire PositionsORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE establishing adjusted salaries for certain police and fire positions, and establishing an effective date. WHEREAS, the City Council has ratified new labor agreements for police officers and firefighters, and WHEREAS, said agreements make certain adjustments to the salaries for the positions listed therein; THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. From and after January 1, 1996, the salaries for the following city positions are fixed not to exceed the following amounts, which salaries shall be paid monthly: Police Officer ............................................ $3 186.75 Police Sergeant ............................................ 3 Firefighter/EMT.. ......................................... 2 Firefighter/Paramedic ...................................... 3 Lieutenant/EMT ........................................... 3 Lieutenant/Paramedic ...................................... 3 689.42 969.32 351.74 462.34 576.89 Section 2. From and after July 1, 1996, the salaries for the following city positions are fixed not to exceed the following amounts, which salaries shall be paid monthly: Police Officer ............................................ $3 267.60 Police Sergeant .............................. '. ............. 3 Firefighter/EMT ........................................... 3 Firefighter/Paramedic ...................................... 3 Lieutenant/EMT ........................................... 3 Lieutenant/Paramedic ...................................... 3 783.02 040.60 424.45 544.25 655.65 Section 3. All other salaries shall remain as previously established. Section 4. Any 'and all actions taken pursuant to the authority of this ordinance but prior to its passage are hereby ratified and confirmed. Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage, approval and publication in the form and manner provided by law. -Read for the first time on April 15, 1996.
