RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF
PORT TOWNSEND WAIVING RENTAL FEES FOR CENTRUM FOR USE OF A
CITY FACILITY FOR THE ACOUSTIC BLUES FESTIVAL
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, does resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, Centrum has produced the Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Festival for
20 years; and
WHEREAS, the weeklong workshop culminates in a series of public perfonnances
including "Blues in the Clubs "; and
WHEREAS, "Blues in the Clubs" provides a point of access for residents who don't
attend the workshop to experience the artistic excellence of the players and partners with
downtown businesses in an effort to bring people to Port Townsend;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council for the City of
Port Townsend hereby waives the rental fee for the Cotton Building as a club venue on
August 5 and August 6, 2011 in exchange for the substantial public benefit derived by the
City of Port Townsend.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular business
meeting thereof, held this 16 "' day of May 2011.
